GRE TEST PREPARATION COURSE IN SEATTLE

Mark Wahl's GRE TEST PREPARATION COURSE IN SEATTLE

Want a professional, affordable GRE Prep course? Read below!

Mark Wahl’s widely acclaimed GRE Prep Course was taught at the University Of Washington through its UW Women’s Center for 21 years. It is now independently taught in the Greenwood area of Seattle at 525 N. 85th, registered right here through Mark Wahl Learning Services (see times and links at left).

About the GRE course: Just $235 gets you access to time-tested subtle strategies for taming the GRE in all three sections. The meetings are four hours apiece on Saturdays. Just $85 more on a weekday evening gets an optional Basic Math Refresher Class, an interest-grabbing, powerful Math Review class that removes rust and fear from old pre-algebra/algebra skills to better build readiness for many math needs, especially the math part of the GRE series.

Mark Wahl is a nationally recognized math learning specialist and a multi-published author. Because of his expertise in tapping the multiple intelligences and both hemispheres of the brain for learning, his GRE Prep Course is highly successful in the math, verbal and critical writing areas. He regularly receives appreciation and referrals from the thousands of GRE students he has helped to prepare for the GRE in the Seattle metro area.

Both genders have unique GRE challenges: Women face several male biases hardwired into the GRE test structure; test statistics show that as a group, women out of school for a few years are chronically under-predicted for grad success by their test results. They go on to outperform all other groups. These test factors are countered by class approaches and strategies. Men find the class a real boon also. Men often discover that their “tried and true” approaches falter in the decoys planted in the test. Both genders widely herald the training’s effectiveness and how it speaks to their unique psychologies, regardless of gender. Additionally, Mark Wahl goes out of his way to advise on individual concerns and issues during breaks and after the class.

And oh yes, the affordable price: Just $235 (and prorated costs after the first class), no extra service fees, no tax, and free parking! This is all direct instruction time, no large blocks used for classroom testing that some courses charge you for. (You do this testing on your own with Mark Wahl’s guidance.) The one-evening power-packed Basic Math Refresher and Review is just $80 additional.

Don’t let the low fees imply low quality. Your teacher Mark Wahl has 23 years experience teaching test strategies; he has published four books, trained teachers, and has thousands of satisfied students. Local ownership lowers costs; a part of the fees even supports local nonprofit services. No national franchise fees and high building overhead jack prices as happens with the Princeton-Review ($1050), Stanley Kaplan ($1200) and others. This is worth even a drive from Tacoma, Bellevue, or Bothell!

NOTE (Registering for your individualized GRE test time):

The General GRE test itself is registered separately from this course. You can get information on many aspects of the GRE General Test from the ETS Company at ETS.org. The Mountlake Terrace Test Center is closest to Seattle (with a Puyallup one near Tacoma) and it is operated by Prometric, reached through Prometric.com or 800-GRE-CALL for actual registration. Test cost is now $160. You can choose an individual time and date for your GRE test taking. If you find yourself too rushed after scheduling you can reschedule up to 10 days before your test date for a $50 fee.

    NOTE (Test revision):

There will be a large revision of the GRE Test starting August 2011. Test results from that July through September will be delayed until December 2011 so it is wise to test before next July if you have any need of a score through 2011. Mark Wahl will be ready to instruct you to master this new version. For now it would be wise to get your score in the old format. for now a “pinch” (perhaps 1-2 math questions and 1-2 verbal questions) of new-format questions are being phased into current math and verbal tests. They are just tweaks on present format types, very easy to adjust to; Mark’s students will be briefed on these.

    NOTE (Math skills):

This course assumes a functioning basic math ability. If you feel you are too rusty in math, were never very successful in math, or have math fears, please consider the single-session Basic Math Review and Refresher Course.

      Study Materials:

The pricey courses supply all study materials, it’s true, and we too give classroom handouts, but with us you get to select and buy your own study books that meet your personal learning needs. How? Mark Wahl carefully guides you through a small list of tried-and-true resources: your individualized choices may total $40-$100. (You may sometimes find them elsewhere but they are offered for your convenience and browsing at the course, purchasable at 10% discount.) This GRE class series also qualifies you to sign up to go on with an optional additional $75 4-hour “Plus” seminar for continuing your math strategy development to deeper levels. All options above can result in as much as 20 hours of quality, affordable direct instruction still far lower than any commercial GRE series in town.

So sign up for expert training, good accessibility to the right study resources, and a more personal, incisive, direct approach with less fluff than the corporate blue chip classes…all at a supremely affordable price. By the way, it’s effective! See a sample of our many positive testimonials.
